Observation homework

For this task, I chose to draw pedestrians interacting /moving along regularly, off of a video taken. The video is of someone filming their POV walking through London. I found this task fun to do, as I had to draw quickly and could focus more on the movement and anatomy of the people. rather than features in particular. Next time I would love to do this out in public, with colours and different materials that would really push me out of my comfort zone.

With this in mind, for the second part of this task we were tasked with drawing 3 buildings preferably from life. I chose to do two of these buildings from life, one being the castle from Alton Towers (top) , the other being from outside my bedroom window (Bottom right). The other is from a photo reference as I found the image beautiful and wanted to recreate it. Overall, I'm really happy with how these buildings came out. I think they are all detailed and have perspective and depth, whilst also carrying their own style. I think choosing different colours and materials for each sketch was a really good idea, as it shows a big difference between each image and makes each stand out in their own respective ways. If I were to develop this further, I would definitely try different sizes for the images, and potentially different materials and colours.
