Type Part 2

For the second part of this lecture, we were asked to draw letter sculptures from life. Being given multiple different materials and a variety of different sculptures to choose from, this task was really fun! I enjoyed having the freedom to test different techniques and materials to see what was working the best for me. My personal favourites are the '1' in the top right corner of one page, and the '&' on the other page. I think the '1' shows off the 3D aspect really well, and the shadows are really nice. The '&' is very detailed and was made from chalk, which I'm impressed with myself for. I don't normally use chalk so am not very confident with using it, but I feel it went really well and I learnt a lot about the material itself whilst drawing such a detailed piece. I would love to redraw that in paint, but I'm really happy with how it turned out overall. 

I would have liked to have finished the full page of the coloured page but am overall really happy with my work. I would develop this work more by using messier materials, like paints, to make messier more exciting work.
